Christmas!

I know I know I'm late. Better late than never I think! We had a pretty great Christmas. After 2 months of planning and working we finally got our basement finished. Kevin and Kailey were sooooo excited to get new bedrooms for Christmas. They didn't know it but we bought them new beds, bedding, and desks to go in there new rooms! It was fun seeing how excited they were to go in them for the first time!

We had a blast opening presents. Korbyn didn't really care. Joe and I had to open all of his but he did have fun playing with his new toys.

Santa!

Saturday we had our ward Christmas party and they had a super special guest come :-) yep you guessed it......Santa. The primary kids had to sing songs, sit through a story, and the congregation singing 4 songs (while Santa was in full view) before they could get to the big man. I have to say i'm pretty proud of all the primary kids. They did really well and were quite reverent. Kailey didn't really say much so i'm not to sure what she asked him to bring, so hopefully he has a good idea of what she wants. After sitting on his lap she had to go and finish her yummy pie.

Kevin asked for the game Battleship and a new car for daddy. Santa told him daddy would have to be super nice to mommy to get that :-)
All in all it was a pretty great night. Korbyn didn't get a chance to sit on Santa's lap but he will have many chances in the future.

In a word....ADORABLE

We had Korbyn's 1 year pics taken and I must say he's stinkin' cute! He is such a ham we didn't even have to pose him.

Happy Thanksgiving!

"Both abundance and lack of abundance exist simultaneously in our lives as parallel realities. It is our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend...when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present- love, health, family, friends, work, joys of nature, and personal pursuits that bring us happiness- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth."

I found this quote (on a friend's website) and thought it was pretty profound. I thought it was great for the Thanksgiving season.

Time flies.....

Ok I know (as my sister recently pointed out) it's been a while, but I never said I was good at this. We have had a busy couple of months. Here is a rundown. 1st of all our little Ms. Kailey turned the big 5. She is super cute!

Also, our little baby turned 1. I can't believe that one, I think i'm still in shock! We did have a fun b-day party for him and his cousin Kali at April's house. They are only 9 days apart so we did a mixed party for them.

We've also been in the process of finishing our basement. What a treat! It's a good thing we are not building a whole house. I honestly don't think I would survive. We are fortunate enough to have a good friend who is doing the work for us. His name is Neal Smith (if anyone is interested) and he's doing a great job. Here's a few pics of the progress......

And then of course we celebrated Halloween. Our family had a Star Wars theme. (Kevin was in heaven). Joe and I were Princess Lea and Hann Solo, Korbyn was Chewbacca (we called him Korbacca), Kailey was Ashoka (from the new movie), and Kevin was a Clone Trooper.

We made some pretty awesome pumpkins and got tons of loot

Weaning Success!!!

On the 1st I decided it was time to wean Korbyn. He had been resisting (at all costs) eating anything but mommy and mommy was tired of being an all you can eat buffet....sooo last Wednesday I decided enough was enough and stopped nursing. The first couple of days were in a word HORRIBLE. It has now been 5 days and we are doing awesome. Korbyn no longer wants to nurse and is eating food really well. I'm so proud of him! I knew he could do it!

Wow! So heres just a rundown of some things that have happened since the last time. Kevin has started 2nd grade (he's getting so big) and he is loving flag football. Kailey is in Mrs. Cheri's class for pre-school this year and she is having fun. She loves school. Korbyn is everywhere and getting into everything. Here are some picts of the things we've been up to.

On the run

K so I haven't been back for a while but not much has been going on. On Saturday (June 28th) I ran my first race. It was a 5 mile leg of a 8 person relay called To Bone and Back. My team didn't place at all, but we had a great time just finishing. I ran my leg in 52 minutes. Not to bad but I'm hoping to beat that time on my next race!
